DL Structural Engineers, previously known as Dippenaar and Lapage was established
as a specialist structural engineering consultancy in 1987.
DLSE is dedicated to providing economical and practical solutions to
structural problems related to the building industry. The interest of the
client must come first, any Client’s requests (large or small, easy or
difficult projects) will be taken into consideration. Respect and good personal
relationships with clients as well as between members of the firm is an
ingrained element of the practice. The firm has expertise in reinforced and
pre-stressed concrete, structural steel, reinforced brickwork and structural
timber design and gives geo-technical advice on foundation problems.
The firm is registered with CESA and carries R 15 million professional indemnity insurance with an approved CESA policy.

Marnus Botes joined the firm of GFC Consulting Engineers where he finished experiential learning in order to obtain his N.Dip (Civ Eng) from Technikon Pretoria in 2005. He later joined Dippenaar and Lapage and finished his studies to obtain a B-Tech Structural degree at Tshwane University of Technology in 2009.
He gained experience working side by side with the senior partners (Mr Dippenaar and Mr Lapage) on structural steel and concrete design, foundation design, site inspections, project management and client liaison. Marnus obtained his professional registration as a Professional Engineering Technologist from ECSA and became a director at Dippenaar and Lapage in 2014.

Barry Dippenaar obtained a B. Sc.
(Civ. Eng.) degree from the University of Pretoria in 1964. He joined the firm
of DJ Hulley and Partners Consulting Engineers. He was made a partner after 3
years and became the partner in charge of the structural division. During that
time he was also closely involved with all geotechnical aspects associated with
structures and gained considerable experience in the field.
In 1987, they established the consulting practice of Dippenaar and Lapage, Structural and Civil Consulting Engineers.
Barry Dippenaar is now a Senior Consultant for DLSE. His present fields of operation are in conceptual structural design, soil evaluation and foundation design, site inspections, project management and client liaison.
Co-Founder / Previous Director
Stephan Lapage graduated (cum laude) from the University of Louvain (Belgium) in 1969. He further obtained a GDE in structures from Wits University in 1986. Since 1969, he has been employed by several consulting engineering firms in Pretoria. He later joined an international firm specializing in the design of hardened and protective structures. In 1981, he started practicing on his own and established a software company developing programs to solve engineering problems.
In 1987, they established the consulting practice of Dippenaar and Lapage, Structural and Civil Consulting Engineers.
S M Lapage is currently practicing under his own name as a Specialist Consultant in the field of structures to resist the effects of accidental explosions or the effects of weapons effects.
